Chapter VII: Mission Galore. 8AqDIq8

Curiosity wasn’t something that had led Karma to the park, for the place was a bore and filled with screaming hell spawns that people liked to call children; though sprinkle in there were a few good kids that didn’t believe that screaming their lungs out was a good idea, and these were the sort of children the Himitsu liked the most. She didn’t need a headache because adults didn’t know how to shut their child up, and she didn’t need her mind to be plagued with the thought of wrapping her fingers around their small throats and choking them until they were on the brink of death. She may be the daughter of the Mizukage, but she knew her mother would have no problem with sending her to jail on several attempted murder charges. She had seen the prison before and she had no desire to make that place her home.

Either way, curiosity had definitely not played a part in Karma’s arrival in the park. The screaming of children hadn’t grabbed her attention, though it was considerably louder than usual, nor had the sound of barking reached her ears. So as for her reason for being at the park surrounded by the corpses of dogs, well it had nothing to do with anything or anyone else. One would be curious on why there were so many deceased dogs lying around and why she was covered in blood. The thought of anyone besides a psychopath slaughtering dogs was unfathomable, yet somehow; anyone with information of the situation beforehand would understand the brutal force that she had used. She had gone to the park not of her own whims but because there was a task that needed to be taken care of quickly. That task had pertained to a group of about ten rabid dogs. Dogs that had thought it a good idea to terrorize those who had gone to enjoy the day at the park, though than again the dogs might have been running on pure instinct.

It didn’t matter to Karma though, the dogs had earned the death penalty the moment she had heard that several people had been bitten, and amongst them had been her little sister, Serenity. She had been filled with anger upon arrival, telling the civilians to clear out of the park and instructing Ichirou to get Serenity to the hospital so that she could get her wound examined and bandaged. Of course the eight-year-old had obeyed his older sister, swiftly leading the crying Serenity away from the park. With the civilians gone, Karma had dispatched of the rabid dogs quickly, doing well to leave not one alive though she had a feeling that several had escaped, probably noticing their numbers dwindling. It didn’t matter to her, she wasn’t about to go on the hunt for several rabid dogs that could be anywhere by now, that would be a total waste of energy and an irrational decision. Instead, she stood at the center of the park, gazing up at the sun as she awaited the arrival of Kiyoko.

The job had been done, but she needed to get rid of the corpses since leaving them there to rot wasn’t an option. And since there was a chance of more rabid dogs coming out of the woodwork, she had decided to enlist the help of Kiyoko. She hadn’t thought about what the Senju would think in regards to her brutality, but even if she had, there was a low chance that she would had cared. If the girl questioned her decision, Karma deemed that a simple ‘orders’ would suffice before she began the process of gathering the deceased dogs into a pile. Once all within the area were stacked, she, using her fire element, would set the dogs ablaze, watching callously as the flesh was burned before turning away. And with a smile on her face, she would turn away from the fire, her demeanor changing drastically as she told Kiyoko that the mission was complete before heading in the direction of the administration office.

Kiyoko had awaken on this very morning in a good mood. The child danced around her room as she got herself ready for the day ahead. She threw on her red and white dress and attempted to put her pigtails up like they normally were. Of course, the child would be wearing whit shorts under her dress because she wasn't very lady like, which was kind of obvious. She put her headband around her neck and threw on her shoes. Kiyoko believed she was ready to go and was very excited for her adventure today. The reason for her being so very happy and excited was because she wouldn't be going on this adventure alone. Today, she would be going on an adventure with Karma. Well, a lot of adventures as Kiyoko would say. However, there was one thing she was hoping for the most.

Kiyoko skipped out to the kitchen since she had to stay strong and eat her breakfast before she left. As the child entered into the room, she would see a woman she liked to call her "mother". "Hey. Is he back yet?" Kiyoko would ask as soon as her eyes landed on the woman. "Sorry darling. Not yet. Don't worry though, he'll be back soon." Kiyoko would look a little disappointed at first but then she would smile, "Oh. Uhh. Yeah I know. He is the strongest and he always comes back." Kiyoko would continue to smile as she grabbed something quick to eat. The child would then turn around to exit her face once again forming a frown, until the woman spoke again. "Kiyoko." The girl's name would cause her to turn around to see the woman's smile. "Let me fix your hair." Her words were said with a small laugh. Kiyoko would sigh as she allowed the woman to straighten out her pigtails. Then before she left, a small kiss would be placed on the girls forehead. This would cause the young Senju to smile a little and exit without anymore interruptions.

Kiyoko walked down the streets of Kirigakure towards the place of the two girls first mission. The park was a fun place for Kiyoko because she liked to mess with the children. Their parents tried to keep them away from her but she was always bragging about how cool she was. The children just couldn't seem to keep their eyes off of her. However, they had been tasked with a mission to get rid of some dogs that had been terrorizing people at that very park. It made Kiyoko angry to think about. She was the only one that could mess with the village and the people in it... in her mind anyway. So, she wouldn't hesitate to rid anything or anyone of her "spotlight". Or so she thought. That was until she started to near the park and saw one of the creatures staring straight at her.

Kiyoko would freeze in her tracks as her eyes locked on the creature. At first, Kiyoko didn't know if it was one of the dogs she had heard about until another one appeared. "You've got to be kidding me." Kiyoko would sigh as she spoke these words. The girl clearly wasn't expecting this and honestly wasn't completely ready for them when they decided to run straight for her. This would make Kiyoko's eyes widen as she looked around frantically. Her eyes would spot a tree, which would make the girl remember the training she had done with her brother at their home. So, she would begin to run just as one of the dogs attempted to jump at her just missing one of her pigtails. This would would make Kiyoko gasp slightly as she continued running. The young Senju would get closer to the tree and just as she had done in training bound up it. However, since that time the girl had practiced very much and had clearly perfected the technique. Kiyoko would get about ten feet up the tree before she stopped to turn around. The girl was now parallel with the ground and she could see her pigtails dangling by the sides of her face. She could also see the dogs below, however they weren't barking but more circling the tree. Kiyoko didn't understand what they were doing but she didn't have time for that. She had to get this over with and get to Karma.

Kiyoko thought for a moment what she would do and honestly she had nothing. Perhaps, she would just take her chances and jump or she could try to hit one of them from the top of their heads. Kiyoko thought over the two plans and shrugged. "What good is an adventure if you don't take chances?" Kiyoko would ask herself as she pulled out a Kunai. The girl would then descend about three feet and jump. The girl's goal was to land on one of the dogs and stab them straight through the top of its head with a Kunai. Lucky for Kiyoko, this goal was a success and she now had one dog down. The girl would then pull on the Kunai that was lodged in the animals head. At first, it seemed like it was stuck until she pulled on it a little harder, which would make it come out but the child would get squirted with blood in the process. "Ew gross. Thanks a lot." Kiyoko would say with a slight growl. Although some might find it odd the child was talking to a dead dog, Kiyoko didn't find it the least bit odd. The thought hadn't even crossed her mind.

As Kiyoko wiped blood from her face and attempted to wipe it from her clothes, she failed to realize that there were two dogs and she had only rided herself of one. She would certainly remember when she heard a growl behind her. This would cause the girl to slowly turn. "Uhh.. nice doggy?" Kiyoko would say nervously but it didn't make much of a difference considering the dog lunged itself at her. The girl would drop to the ground and watch as it made its way over her. With the Kunai still in hand, Kiyoko would quickly get to her feet. "or not." Kiyoko would say as she stared the creature down. She waited for it to attack again. It ran straight for her but this time Kiyoko didn't move. Instead, she waited for it to come closer and kicked it in the side of the face. She watched as it stumbled and fell on it's side. The girl would then leap into action and stab it straight through the eye.

Kiyoko would pull out her Kunai yet again from the head of a dog. It was covered in blood much like she herself was but there was less on her. The child wiped the tool off onto her dress, which was already ruined, and then her hands. The girl wasn't smiling though she was actually quite upset now. She had never killed anything before and didn't know how she should take it. Was it an accomplishment or was it wrong? She didn't want to but she had to. Kiyoko wished her brother was here so she could ask about it but wishing was a waste of time. Kiyoko had other things to do today so she would have to come back to this. In her mind and possibly later on because she had no way to dispose of the creatures. So, the child would keep her Kunai in her hand, just in case, and make her way down towards where Karma was.

Kiyoko would make her way to where Karma was and stop to watch as she lit the dogs courpses on fire. It looked like Karma didn't have a problem with it so should she feel the same. Anyway, the girl didn't want anyone to see her look so worried or concerned. So, she would smile and greet Karma. They both looked a little messy and Kiyoko still hadn't put her Kunai away. Instead, she stood with it twirling in her finger as she smiled.

Chapter VII: Mission Galore. 8AqDIq8

Karma ran her fingers through her hair as she walked down the street of Kirigakure no Sato, a bored look upon her face that matched her dull brown eyes. It had probably been only two days since the attack of the rabid dogs, a mission that had resulted in the death of every last rabid dog that had shown up at the park, and they had already been sent on another mission. Her mother had conducted a psyche evaluation on her daughter during dinner, though the eldest child within the residence hadn’t noticed anything, her mother being an expert in covering stuff up. Empathetic all the time, that woman was, it allowed her to sympathize with people of various backgrounds and standing with ease, though Karma had a feeling that there were a few occasions when the woman misinterpreted an emotion. A prime example was Judar Hikari, a man that had served as her assistance before his betrayal which was followed by a swift death, courtesy of Loki Uzumaki, her sensei. Her mother had been deeply hurt by the man’s actions, but had gotten over it fairly quickly. He was a traitor, so Karma hadn’t seen her mother mourn his demise, something that she had expected of her mother. Yet Karma’s mother tended to predict one’s emotional state accurately about ninety percent of the time, leaving a very small margin for error though her mother would probably think it to be a gaping hole that needed closing.

But that didn’t matter at the moment, nor did it pertain to the mission that she was conducting with Kiyoko, her teammate. They were out on this fine morning collecting the debts from store owners who hadn’t paid up. It wasn’t that they couldn’t pay what they owed the state, oh no their store was gaining enough revenue for them to not only repay the loan but also the tax for said loan whilst still having plenty of money left over. No, they were simply being stingy with their money, and probably didn’t think that the administration would notice the lack of money in the treasury. They were horribly wrong to have thought such a thing, and Karma would definitely show them why. It confused her why some people choose to not pay their debt on time, for by not doing so they ran the risk of shinobi getting involved. And trust her, the shinobi force had better things to do than track them down and force them to pay what they owed, though some definitely found it fun. Karma believed that the best way to stay out of debt was to be wise with one’s money and if they take out a loan, to pay said loan back as quickly as possible. It really wasn’t that hard, and yet some people seem to take great pleasure and making things difficult.

Either way, she wouldn’t have it. They had already collected the pay from two shop owners and were now on their way to the third one who owed the state money. A grim smile was on Karma’s face, and she glanced over at Kiyoko for a brief moment. She hoped that this went smoothly like the other two, but much to her displeasure a fight would break out. The moron who had decided to attack two shinobi capable of laying him flat upon the floor with no effort had been a man who really, really, didn’t want to give up his ‘hard’ earned money and had thus attacked the girls. A mistake on his part since he was immediately restrained and forced to hand over what he owed. With three payments collected the mission would be over.
