The night was very plain unlike every other nights. The atmosphere was not hot neither was it cold. Dray had hit the sack quite early. Everything seemed so strange that night as dray found it hard to sleep deeply. He was tossing and turning on his bed as if something was stopping him from sleeping.
Just then, he felt something crawling on his skin. He felt it was definetly one of those insects that meant no harm and had simply lost their way so dray did not seem to bother.
Suddenly, the creature bit dray's neck as dray opened his eyes calmly. The bite was noy painful but it only drew dray's attention. Dray woke up and tried to place his hand on the spot where he had been bitten. Just then, he saw the spider flying above him. He recognized it very well. It was the very spider that kaseki had given to him when they clashed ninja swords together.
It was some sort of mutated spider as the spider had little wings on it's back. It was awesome. A flying spider. Dray raised his hands to the spider in the air and the spider flew a few iches forward. Dray moved his hand forward for the spider to hop on but it only flew forward once more. Dray wondered what the spider was trying to do but he had no idea. He sat up in bed and placed his hands under his chin with sleepy eyes. The funny flying spider probably got tired of trying to pass whatever message it was trying to pass. To dray. It suspended itself in the air for a few seconds and finally flew to the door and flew back to dray. It flew to the door and back to dray. To the door and back to dray. It got exhausted and fell on the soft matress. Dray could not laugh though what just happened was a funny scene. He now understood what the little creature was saying. He wanted dray to exit the room through the door and follow him.
Dray got dressed though it was a light clothing consisting of a black long sleeve vest and shinobi pants and finally, his sandals.
He walked to the door and almost immediately, the spider was up and beside dray. It was probably happy that dray had understood what he had been trying to say all along. Dray opened the door and the spider flew out first. Dray calmly followed behind it with both his right and left hands in his trouser pockets.
The flying spider took dray through the streets of kumogakure and towards the village's walls. Dray wondered what the spider was doing or where it was leading him. Dray had little troubles getting through the walls. He was a reputable shinobi of the cloud. An s- ranked ninja too. Getting to the walls, he raised a hand to the guards on watch and they understood that he would get back before dawn. Dray walked through the village gates and continued following the spider that was out already. It flew over the walls of the village. An good advantage, dray thought.
The spider continued leading dray as it turned unto the path of the forest. Now, this was getting creepy. Dray calmly followed behind. He could see different eyes glow in the dark forest but he tried as much as possible not to draw any unwanted attention to himself as he did not want to disturb the peace of the large forest. The spider led dray into a cave. As dray walked into the cave, he heard flutters of wings. Why the spider brought him here, he wanted to know. The cave was dark but finally, dray got to some where with little light and in here, what he saw was a mystery. He saw spider twice and thrice his own size and they had wings too. How the hell that was possible, he wondered. And then, the most terrifying thing that night happened. A small spider with double wings spoke. It was not as big as the bigger winged spiders dray had seen but it seemed to be the head here. Before it spoke, the spider that had led dray here had flew over and probably communicated with the head.
The king spider spoke. "So, my little boy has been in your care all this while.. He explained that you have been a generous and obedient soul. Incase you are confused, do not be. What you see with your naked eyes are true. We are natural spider and yes, I am speaking to you in human language. For clarification, my ancestors which were spiders crossed with flying insects, thus what you see now.
There is just one man who knows about us and that man is kaseki. Wherever he may be. He signed a contract with us already. As a gift for your generousity, I will also offer you a contract. It is your choice to decide to sign it or not but once you do, you will not be able to sign a contract with any other specie again and also, with this signed contract, you will be able to use your own blood to summon any of my warrior to fight for you on the battle field. The choice is yours.."
Dray took a few seconds to decide. He liked the idea of a spider flying around him. A little one that is but the idea of summon a larger flying spider, about twice the size of a human was something that was fascinating. It looked heroic when a summon was called forth to the battle field.
"I accept the contract" dray said. As he finished his statement, a thick web ejected from the king spider and grabbed dray's left hand. It shredded the clothing on dray's hand and dray felt the pain of whatever the king spider had done to him. The web was released seconds later. Dray looked at his arm and it was like nothing had happened to him except for the fact that his sleeve was shredded and what looked like a tattoo was already on his arm. Dray rubbed it over and nothing happened. It was like it was done with a permanent ink. The tattoo pattern was three bonds with a circle in their centre. In this circle was the image of a spider with wings and a small hole in it. This hole made that part of dray's skin visible.
"Place your blood on that hole to seal the contract" the king spider said.
Still suprised, dray bit his finger and stamped the hole with the blood from his finger. At that moment, the tattoo shone brightly but died down seconds later. Now, accompanied with this three bonds, the centre circle and the flying spider image were some ancient writings around each and every one of them. The contract was sealed.
Once again, the little spider led dray out of the cave. Looks like this one was his own personal companion and it needed a name, dray thought. Perhaps, when it grew older, it would be capable of speech. Dray turned back to look at the cave but it was no longer there. Dray smiled as he headed back to the village. Walking in through the gates, he raised his hands once more at the vigilant guards that nodded and faced their work.
