Keita had been on a training binge, and he felt that he should take a little break, but after that break, he was right back into the swing of things, and started training again immediately. He went to find some of the genjutsu users in the village, mostly because he wanted to figure out how to break out of genjutsu using the genjutsu kai technqiue, and for that, he would need to understand how genjutsu worked in it's entirety. He wanted to know everything about genjutsu, and since it was a more advanced art that they didn't teach much in the academy, he didn't really know anything about it, and so he was looking around for someone who was good at it. There was one jounin that was very good at genjutsu, but he didn't really openly teach anyone, but there were rumors that he was one of the best in the village. Keita wanted to learn genjutsu really badly, but wasn't really sure where to start. He was thinking that learning from a master like that would be much more useful in learning the ways of the art, especially if the master taught him from a very basic starting point. He was also going to read up about it in the library first, to have a very basic understanding of it, but that came later. He wanted to at least meet this master, and so he went to the administration office to see if he could request some of the information about this man. As he stepped into the administration building, he noticed a woman sitting on a bench, and she looked fairly sad, and was waiting for a person to come back with her info that she filled out. This seemed strange to Keita, and so he went up to her to ask about what was troubling her.
As he talked with her, at first she seemed very reserved, until Keita told her a little bit about himself, how he was a ninja, and he was studying to become a medical ninja. She simply said that she was having horrible night terrors, and that she thinks that someone is breaking into her house every night and stalking her, and so Keita was a bit worried. That was going to be a B ranked mission due to the fact that there was a high possibility of it being a ninja sneaking into the house without anyone else noticing, and that if confronted, there would be a fight, so Keita already knew he couldn't do much to help this women. However, he could possibly help her sleep, and told her about how warmed honey in milk would ease the night terrors if drank right before sleeping. She seemed to be a bit consoled int hat information, and that made Keita happy to see her smile a little. Keita then proceeded to ask about the best genjutsu users in the village to the administration, and after denying chuunin as teachers, he eventually got the name that he was seeking, it was a person named Shachi Yamada, and he was a strong user of three different combat styles, which were Genjutsu, Taijutsu, and Sensory. This would make it much easier for Keita to learn, if he could possibly learn from the man. The man had everything that Keita wanted to learn, and apparently Sensory was something that could come in handy quite a bit, especially because of his kekkei genkai abilities would be greatly amplified by them.
He asked for an address, but apparently that was only something that other Jounin could request, so Keita thanked her anyways and asked if there was some way to contact the Jounin, and the woman only gave a vague area where he was known to show up and train and such. Keita thought that this was a good a place as any to start his investigation, but someone that was skilled in sensory and genjutsu would be very difficult to track, and if the man didn't want to be found, he could easily steer Keita in another direction. So, Keita went to the spot that he was supposed to be in, guided by another vague description of the man, all Keita knew was that he was a fairly large and muscular man, with a long thin mustache and black hair. This could be confused with a few other people, but it would seem that he quickly found the man he was looking for, and thought that it was too easy. He started to walk towards the man, and the man noticed this, and walked in the opposite direction, so Keita followed. The man started to pick up the pace, and so Keita called out to him, asking if he could talk to him for a moment, and then the man picked up the speed even more. The man was very fast, but Keita was also fast, although he still couldn't really keep up with the Jounin. He kept following him until they got to a small forest to the left of the village that people often went to train their senses, as the forest was said to be fairly dangerous. Keita followed the man as best he could, until he couldn't see him anymore. this was when Keita started looking for anything that marked his direction.
He was looking for broken branches, twigs, scuff marks on trees because of the man's large body, but it didn't seem like the man left anything of this nature. this was when Keita noticed he was in the forest deep enough to where he didn't quite remember how to get back to the village. He sighed, but he at least knew how to find his way around, mostly because he wasn't as skilled as the jounin, and so he knew that he left broken branches and scuff marks along the way, and simply followed those home. It was fairly trivial to him to follow his own path home, thanks to a few books about hunting and trapping he read. As he was reaching the village again, there was a figure behind him, and the hair on the back of his neck stood up. Suddenly a large fist came towards Keita's head, and thanks to his animal instincts, Keita barely ducked in time to dodge a punch he couldn't even see. He looked on, and there was a large man with black hair and a mustache, just as the person in the administration office said. Keita had ducked and rolled, and was now sitting on his butt, and the person just glared at him, and then asked him why he was following him. Keita explained that he wanted to better himself, and the man simply scoffed, and said that he didn't teach weaklings like Keita. Keita knew better than to get angry at this, and knew better than to simply believe him at face value. The man was testing him, and as this was a test, Keita thought of the perfect comeback to this, and he said that he was indeed weak. If he wasn't a weakling, then he wouldn't be searching out teachers to better himself in the first place.
Apparently the man liked this answer, as he said the word good, and then grabbed Keita by the scruff and walked him back into the forest. When they were deep in there, he started to talk to Keita about exactly what he wanted to learn. In the forest there, they trained until Keita's body was sore, and then they started to train the mind. He was taught that Genjutsu is the ability to send a predetermined line of code into the enemy's mind, altering their senses and what they perceive in the world around them. This can range from something simple, like changing the color of an existing object, or something more intricate, like making them believe that there is an apple pie, with looks, smells, taste and even texture of an apple pie. This seemed simple, to make someone think there was an apple pie there, but in fact, it seemed like this would be a multi layered genjutsu at lower ability, meaning Keita probably couldn't make this illusion as it effected too many senses at once, and this got Keita greatly interested. First off for genjutsu, you needed a strong and studious mind, which Keita seemed to have, and the next thing is chakra control. Due to Keita's great practice in the art of Medical ninjutsu, he also had very good chakra control, so he was a natural genjutsu user. There were three types of genjutsu, and each of them had their own strengths and weaknesses. The first type was the most powerful type, and was known as direct type. This direct type was single target, and could change a large number of things in a person's senses. Since it only affects one person, it was better in a one vs one situation, but bad in other situations.
The next type of area of effect, and was essentially putting your chakra in an area, and the genjutsu would affect everyone in that area. These were generally weaker, and easier to break with genjutsu kai, but it was good at effecting squads of people, which made it fairly good overall. The third was called static, and was mostly a visual thing. Using genjutsu one could change the appearance and other physical aspects of an object or place, and everyone who looks at it will see the illusion. this was demonstrated in a book as the easiest form of genjutsu, and the easiest to see through, and an example was changing the number that was on the door of a room, fooling others as to what room it actually was. Knowing this didn't really mean anything, as Keita told the person that while genjutsu was fascinating, currently he only wanted to know how to break out of genjutsu and how to break others out of genjutsu as well. The man told him that he should continue his genjutsu career alone after this then, but it was still nice to have someone to talk to that wasn't a completely obnoxious and proud person that wanted to learn powerful genjutsu techniques to crush their enemies. Keita was refreshing to the man, and taught him the very basic idea behind the genjutsu kai. Since genjutsu was about affecting the mind and altering the electrical impulses going between the brain, it could induce feelings akin to pain. Any advanced stimulus to the mind would shake off a genjutsu, such as intense pain, like biting your tongue, stabbing yourself, breaking your own finger, things of that nature.
The other way was to essentially use genjutsu to shock your mind, which essentially wipes out some of the foreign chakra out of your mind, depending on how skilled you are with genjutsu. Most strong genjutsu users will use multiple genjutsu on a person in layers, so that they had to break through these layers first to get the main genjutsu to stop affecting them. This was more difficult the more advanced the genjutsu user was, so he had to make sure to be careful. Genjutsu kai was a simple jutsu that one could teach themselves at any library, but the concepts behind it were starting to get drilled into Keita's head. He figured out how to formulate very simple genjutsu codes in his head, and learned how to project his chakra through hand seals and into the enemy. It had a very limited range, and it was most likely because Keita was simply beginning to learn genjutsu. It seemed that Keita was a natural, and picked up the skills very quickly in regards to speed. He was learning things so fast, and Keita hoped that he would never eventually hit a wall that he couldn't get passed in his learning, because he wanted to know everything this world had to offer in terms of knowledge. He thanked the man, and asked if they could continue the training the next day, as he also wanted to learn more about sensory, which seemed like it was going to be a different approach. The man laughed, and said of course, but Keita would have to wake up extremely early so that they could get started right away.
Keita then trained with the man for the next few days, learning everything he could about Genjutsu. Since he didn't really know any techniques, he was simply learning the basic concepts, and his mind worked in such a way as to put the concepts into coherent structure, and he was absorbing the knowledge like a sponge. Every day, the man quizzed him about random facts about genjutsu that he had learned a few days ago, or even the day right before, to see if Keita was actually retaining the information, and he definitely was. He was like an encyclopedia of knowledge when it came to all things book wise, and could recall all the information. He loved to read, and showed up with multiple genjutsu reference books with him to training everyday, and the man told what information in the books was actually important. Keita was making a name for himself in the village, and it seemed like the man was finally willing and ready to teach him sensory, as genjutsu knowledge from that point on would need to be from experience, practice, and actually learning genjutsu techniques. Keita thanked the man profusely, and the man said that he was going to need to pack for a three day trip out in these forests. This was going to be fun, just like camping, and Keita was excited because he had never gone camping before, and loved new experiences. Keita showed up right before the sun came up, and didn't see the man anywhere. Soon, Keita was enveloped in genjutsu that made him nice and lost in the forest, and soon he passed out.
He woke up without any of his supplies, and the man was sitting next to him, ready to teach him things. Keita wondered where his stuff was, and asked the man where they were, and the man simple said that he had to figure that out, and got immediately into teach sensory techniques. First, to understand sensory, one had to understand the instincts that we still have as animals, and that they were going to go out and catch their own food. Keita had never hunted before, and he didn't really want to, just because he loved fluffy and cute animals and creatures, and he just knew that he would have to kill them for food. It was a good thing that his stomach could handle anything due to the Mushikoro, and he could even eat raw meat without much of a hindrance. So, the first day was simply hiking around, looking for animals, and getting a feel for where they were in the wilderness, not to find their way back to the village, but simply to hone their senses. Eventually, Keita stopped thinking about getting home, and instead started listening to the wilderness, the birds, the trees, there was a small stream somewhere to the west of them, and it seemed like his senses were opened up. This was fantastic, and he didn't really seem to notice until he was tracking a small fox through the wilderness. He remembered every step he took so that he could get back to the small camp they had set up, but when he finally cornered the fox, he simply couldn't kill it, and let it go. Keita sighed at how nice he was, or perhaps he was simply weak in that he couldn't kill to survive.
He found other sustenance in the form of insects that he found inside of fallen over trees and other undercrops. because he was essentially able to eat anything, he ate centipedes, grasshoppers, larvae of unknown insects, among other things. He didn't really feel full, but he wasn't hungry anymore, which was good, and then he walked back and met up with the man again after collecting quite a few insects using his shirt as a bag to hold them in. The man had a bunch of fish attached to the end of a spear that was fashioned from a fallen branch, or a branch that he just ripped up out of the floor. Keita wondered if the man was also good at using weapons, and he probably was in fact. Still, the man had fish, and all Keita had was a bunch of bugs, but the man happily ate them. It was nice to sit out there in the wilderness and starting a fire using nothing but your hands and the environment, and tuning your senses to notice things that you wouldn't normally. After they had eaten and Keita was nice and full, the man started to show Keita how to use his chakra to enhance his senses, and even use his chakra as a large net that he could blanket over an area to find peoples' chakra signatures. Over the three days, he taught Keita how to sense people, tell chakra signatures apart, and even enhance his natural senses with sensory, although that could be seen as a handicap in certain situations, like having a powerful sense of smell and then someone puts down a stink bomb, or having a very keen eye sight, and suddenly having a flash bomb in front of your face. Keita would take these lessons home with him, and read all he could on the subject, but the hands on experience with the jounin was far more valuable. Keita enjoyed the outdoors a lot, so it was nice to sit on the roof of the Furue estate, above his room, and simply stare at the stars. He actually fell asleep up there on the roof, staring at the boundless expanse of the universe, and eventually he wanted to learn about that as well.
