I hate black history month.
I sincerely hate that they try to crush down the entirety of black history into one month. There are also no months for Jews, Chinese people, and a lot of other minorities that were abused in this country.
Black History is American History, at least in America where it is celebrated because of our involvement in slavery.
I believe that this black history month simply draws a bigger gap between people, as we single out a race and look at the race's accomplishments. As if instead of just calling them great triumphs that humans have done for the human race, or human rights as a whole, we segregate their accomplishments to their race.
It's as if the entire month, people are taught to look at black peoples' accomplishments as if they were some grand thing, and I'm not saying the acts themselves weren't important, they were. What I'm saying is that it might send the wrong message, teaching people to think, "Even though they were black, they accomplished such and such."
We're getting to the age where I want people to be known as humans, not of any race, and I wouldn't call Zancrow my black friend Zan, I know him as Zancrow, and he's simply my friend, just like he knows me as Keita, not as 'his white friend Keita.'
I believe the only way to truly get rid of racism is to stop talking about it, just like Yolo was destroyed.

Sorry guys, end rant, I just hate racism and think that Black History month doesn't help. If you enjoy it, then good for you, I hope you have a good month!
