Life as the Mizukage was difficult, something that Kali Himitsu, the twelfth person to hold such a prestigious position, was still learning. The twenty-year-old widow and mother of one had a laundry list of duties to fulfill on a daily basis, and quite frankly her duties were beginning to take it’s toll on her psyche, though she hid it well. Sometimes the woman felt like neglecting her duties for a day in favor of spending time with her two-year-old daughter, even if that time was spent in bed with the two cuddling close to one another as they slept. There was also the option of spending time with Krenos, the only man that had caught her attention since the death of her first husband, but than again her daughter came before her love life, or at least for now. With two months having gone by, and the workload not getting any lighter, Kali had decided that a day off was in order though one that wouldn’t be for rest. She had informed the administration that she would not be coming in today and that she would handle whatever she had missed tomorrow, but for now she would be taking a trip to the training field to improve some skills.
Though she wished to spend time with her daughter, she knew that training needed to come first and having the two-year-old sit and watch wasn’t an option. Usually the young Himitsu would be brought to the training ground so that she may watch her mother, but since Kali was going to be training with another individual, she deemed it too dangerous for her daughter to be around. Of course it was something that had greatly upset the two-year-old, the child and the mother missing the time that they spent together, but the Mizukage wasn’t one to give in just because her child was crying. Karma needed to understand that though they spent less time with one another that her mother still loved her a lot and will do her best to clear her schedule so that more time could be spent with her. But as of now, she needed to improve the skills she already had so that she may perform her job as protector of Kirigakure no Sato better. So with a kiss upon the two-year-old’s forehead, Kali departed from the small home that she use to share with her deceased husband, though the place was beginning to not feel like home.
She walked the streets of Kirigakure, a smile upon her porcelain face and brown eyes filled with enthusiasm. Kali greeted all who caught her eye, though she didn’t stick around for idle chit-chat since she had somewhere to be, and by god will she be on time. Being tardy wasn’t an option for her, it never has been nor shall it ever, and thus when she felt like a considerable amount of time had been wasted calming down Karma and talking to the residents of Kirigakure, she picked up the pace. Raphael, a young man that had recently been inducted into the Anbu corps, would not be kept waiting. She arrived at the training ground five minutes later, eyes scanning the area as she looked for the Hyuga.
