Plot Discussion

Discuss what you want to see apart of the plot being constructed by the staff. If we like it, we shall add it in, though only if it fits in well. Remain civil throughout the discussion and don't hold back on any ideas you may have.

does there have to be a lot of description or can we throw out ideas and staff will run with it? im thinking zombie ninja with like zombie jutsu.

I'd like to see a plot that has nothing to do with the canon other than the "lore." Yaknow, no x amount of years after the canon - the canon simply didn't happen.

Not really "plot" but I'd also like to see the banned and limited lists shrink. I know things like flight should be limited to avoid EVERYONE flying and making Doton techs virtually useless, but why Dust Release or Black Lightning?

Well dust release allows you to fly and is really immeasurable in strength, Dust is by far the most powerful advanced release. However, I will consider unbanning it due to the new advanced release rules.

As for lore, all I can imagine is well... something rather interesting, really. I do not want to change what has already been established in this plot. However, the God of Shinobi still exists and is capable of anything (the one who distributed bijuu). I suppose we could include lore. Such as have the God transport people in "instances" that put them right there with canon characters to complete tasks. Otherwise, how would lore work?

Wait are you saying you want custom villages? And if we do it right, we could have an entirely different storyline happening in the form of "lore". Aside form lore, I would like to require leaders of a village to create storyline events in their village as well.

Hmmm.... I dunno how I feel about that one because it would completely change the naruto-verse as we know it so we could no longer use canon info for judgment. We could however use lore to go to a parallel world with similar events to allow characters to participate in things that were vaguely described in the series like the Uchiha Senju war. And within this "lore" or parallel world we could disable death so people would be more comfortable doing combat. We would need custom stories more than anything however.

My idea was more along the lines of something like this: Canon characters don't exist. All the jutsu would, and you could still use canon for OOC logic, but IC, the characters don't exist. This way, things like Rinnegan are still legend and folklore and no one knows if it even exists because it wouldn't be in every single textbook ever, yaknow?

I like the idea of going back to the era of warring clans. No villages and such.  But rather than clans, you have factions, which are groups of clans or individuals who join for certain purposes, whether it be protection, a new world order, or whatever else. This could also give them the freedom to come up with their own hierarchy, laws, and lifestyles. Maybe one faction wants to be nomadic? Maybe the other wants to reside in a single castle? Maybe one is a fishing village? Yaknow, that kinda thing.

It would also be cool if (I did this at my site and people seemed to like it) the villages were JUST founded. Yaknow, like the kage would be the first for their villages - they wouldn't really have predecessors and the villages may have only been founded a few years ago. Maybe not even that long.

It's just that I see so many sites with either some radically different plot that makes no sense (like zombie ninja) or happened x amount of years after Naruto vs. Madara.

EDIT: We also need to decide on some sort of power plateau. Like... Should Chuunin generally be looked at as around Iruka's level or Sakura's? Choji's? Maybe Hinata's? Also, people's "power" shouldn't be judged by Ninja Rank, but instead by letter rank. Reasoning? In Part I, Kakashi was a Jounin and somewhere near A-Rank. In Part II, he was still a Jounin, but he was 10x stronger and S-Rank. OH! And people shouldn't be so damned versatile. No mastering all 5 elements and shit because it was said in the Canon that only the Rinnegan user was known to be able to. Peoples' abilities should be a bit more confined, but at the same time, inside those confinements, their power should be able to grow tremendously. Basically, what I mean is, no all 5 elements, but people should be allowed to make stronger jutsu with what they DO have. Same with CS and such. Hope that made sense o.o

I too like the times of the old where villages were just founded. HOWEVER, we cannot up and change the plot this site already says. That being said, it's not entirely impossible or even difficult to have two plots that are parallel so long as they dont clash with each other. Which is why the "lore" part of the forum could be say a second storyline where out characters could go back to warring times and decided which factions they like to join. As a result, time space would naturally be changed in our world and it would bring changes to current times to shake things up for a central plot. Either that or we could just use an alternate world that charcters can travel back and forth between.

I suppose... In lore you could hypothetically have another character aside from the one you control in the real world?

Wouldn't that be extremely uninviting to new people? When I see outlandish things like that in forums I generally become deterred.

Fine fine. I dunno, what I'm thinking is hard to put into words. Lemme try though.

Considering the fact that it is lore, its just a story. So we would be telling the story by acting through opther characters... if that makes any sense.
