History: Part I The Lazy Genius
The academy as an institution that is not mandated by the village receives children of varying age. Most of whom come from a long line of ninja and others join cause they want a change of life. Mako as member of the Hanabi clan is an example of the former. His family participated in many aspects of village life some were shinobi others were employed elsewhere or hand their own business. Mako’s parents were both shinobi and like so many before he became a ninja. Without anyone ever uttering a word it was just expected that he would follow suit. Mako did start his journey at the age
A hero’s death
Four years ago when Mako was eleven his father died more accurately he was killed. While the details are a little hazy the story that was presented to Mako is as follows. Guermo Hanabi died in service to the village. He was in pursuit of a missing ninja unfortunately that ninja killed him. His body was never recovered or at least it wasn’t present for the funeral. Mako’s mother and he were hit very hard by this but the visible grief in Mako wouldn’t show until much later. For now he felt he had to be a rock for his mother to hold onto. The story not told: Guermo was investigating a family that was living in the land of lightning this family head of house ended up being a missing ninja from Konoha. Being the man Mako’s father was in both position and character he was under no obligation to kill the man just cause his name appeared in the bingo book. After all he could relate being a man with a family himself. After observing the man he would make his approach.
Back to Mako: His life understandably would never be the same in more ways than one. His grief stricken mother would stop working and was bed ridden most of the time. Her body began to turn against her someone who couldn’t take care of their self couldn’t take care of their son. At the age of eleven Mako had to grow up. It was more than just getting a job to contribute his income was needed in order to guarantee he had anything.
Patience worn thin
The clan had supported Mako’s family for awhile but Mako could see that they or at least his mother was becoming an annoyance to them. Mako had changed overtime but he still loved his mother. In order to be able to continually demand her care without devoting all money he could earn and never being around he would have to take on more of a role in the clan structure. After having spent years floating about aimlessly in academy his father’s death awakened a strong work ethic. It wasn’t like he hadn’t been learning in the academy he just never bothered putting forth an effort. It had been to late to be at top of his class unless he spent another full year there so he managed to pass with average marks. Now Mako is recent graduate who is soon approaching squad selection
