One of his opponents walked into the arena, he could tell by the man's massive chakra and the fact that he walked into the arena. It seemed his opponent was apart of the secret faction known as the ANBU, wearing the signature armor and mask Kumogakure ANBU were known for. This meant his opponent was most likely more skilled than him, but that didn't matter. Like his friend Yukki, he was the type of person that was always able to overcome the odds. He was going to lead the village into a Golden Age, one where Kumogakure was the ruler of the shinobi world.
Itome was silent from this tree, and stalked his prey with his eyes, analyzing his every move with the Sharingan. For now, he wouldn't attack, just because he liked the thrill of the hunt. Was it a downfall for him? Yes, but, it rarely ever effected him in a negative manner. He was amazed at how the ANBU entered the arena like this. No stealth or secrecy whatsoever, walking through the main entrance like a buffoon. Itome would make sure that when he was the leader, he would be firing this man from this position as a member of the ANBU. He didn't even have sensory skills, because if he did Itome would have been found and this fight would have became a lot more interesting. He was a stain on the reputation of all ANBU members.
Crouching in the bushy leaves of the tree, he began to wonder if any of his former teammates were watching. Was Shigure cheering him on? Or, after all these years, was she still mad that Itome broke the promise? And he couldn't even bring back Yuuki either..
Rage was beginning to surface, although Itome was trying his best not to control it and take it out on the ANBU, even though he had a pretty clear shot. Shigure or his sensei would say that it didn't make sense for Itome to start killing perfectly usable ninja, even if he did tarnish the reputation of one of the most respected organizations in the world.
Control your emotions, damn it. You're better then those other Uchiha.. you're perfection!
With his emotions now under control, he let out a sigh, one his opponent was incapable of hearing due to the loud crowd and his distance from the tree, which was thirty meters. But where was the final member of this tournament? Did he think that it was stylish to arrive late? How could the village trust this mysterious late person as Raikage if he couldn't even be bothered to show up on time? If the mysterious challenger did come, Itome would make sure he would unleash his wrath tenfold on that person.
It was definitely time to make his move though. He wondered what this ANBU member specialized in, because he obviously didn't have any type of sensing skills. So, even though he wasn't the best at Genjutsu, he decided that he would be having a little fun.
Forming a single handseal, the tiger handseal, he would focus his chakra control into forming a massive illusion of many feathers that would drop around this pathetic, weak, ANBU member. The feathers covered an immense area of fifty meters and appeared fifteen meters above the ANBU, making escape, if possible, extremely difficult, because one he saw even a single feather, he would be knocked out cold, allowing Itome's clone to do the rest of the job. It was also possible for this jutsu to knock out everyone watching in the audience, even the Raikage. But, the effects of this jutsu were temporary. As the laws of Rikudo stated stated, the caster of a Genjutsu could not attack another person while under a Genjutsu, or risk being "voided", which meant that the Rikudo would come and erase that particular moment, and the attacker would be forced to start over again. Of course, since they were ninja, people obviously found loopholes around this rule, like using Shadow Clones. Fortunately, the Rikudo allowed this.
If, for some reason, the Genjutsu somehow effected him, the user, the feathers would not knock him out, as his Sharingan was here to break him out of the Genjutsu.
Anyways, assuming his opponent did succumb from the effects of the Temple of Nirvana technique, Itome was unsure of what to do. Yes, Shigure and his sensei would tell him leave the ANBU member alive, but they would also say he's a disgrace...and they didn't need any disgraces in the village. He pondered this for a moment, not being stressed in the least bit because of the fact his opponent was sleeping like a baby(again, assuming the genjutsu worked). As Itome was just about to simply drag his opponent out of the stadium using his clone so he wouldn't get hurt in the battle against the late challenger, Itome saw the color of his skin from his foot, his nose twisting in disgust.
White trash...this man, was unskilled white trash that dared to try and take the mantle of Raikage? This man had such audacity, that he needed to be punished for it. His emotions were already fluctuating, switching from sadness to anger at a moment's notice. It was a bit amazing that all of this occured while Itome is sitting in a tree, and now it was time for the next phase of the plan. Forming the necessary handseals required, Itome would immediately make a clone of himself. Unlike the basic E-rank version, this version was solid, meaning it was far more durable. It could even perform jutsu. The clone, standing on a sturdy branch that was two meters away from Itome, automatically knew what to do as both the user and clone shared the same mind.
Kids would be watching this. After all, who didn't want to see a battle that would determine the fight for Raikage? But, Itome gave no fucks about those sniveling little brats. This would be the day that people would realize he was a threat, and not some simple minded buffoon. He was happy breaking his disguise, the one that he worked for so long, for the opportunity to become Raikage.
His shadow clone climbed down the tree, simply by using the tree walking exercise, a simple jutsu that had no chakra cost because of Itome's skill in Ninjutsu. He was a master, even though he didn't usually brag about it. It seemed that these days, everyone was good at Ninjutsu.
Anyways, the clone ran fifteen meters towards the sleeping body of the ANBU. Itome was still holding on to the Genjutsu, so he wouldn't be waking up anytime soon unless he had enough skill to break out of the jutsu.
Now, the clone would be fifteen meters away from the ANBU. From his holster on the left side of his waist, the clone would take out a kunai. From a holster on the left side of his knee, he would take out an explosive tag, quickly attaching it to the small, knife like tool. He was also a master of the weapons.
With the explosive note now attached to the kunai, the clone would throw it at the sleeping ANBU. Depending on how he fell, a variety of scenarios would take place, although Itome was trying to make his death as embarrassing as it possibly could.
Itome's clone's kunai was aimed at either his penis, or his asshole, depending on the way the ANBU fell. Even if he couldn't get those two spots, however, he would throw it at the ANBU's leg. With a single handseal from the clone, the exploding note would be activated, blowing his foe into smithereens. The explosion covered five meters, and Itome and his clone watched in delight as the sickly, pale piece of shit ANBU was reduced to a red paste, with a few traces of his organs on the ground.
Only the strongest survive in this world..and he simply wasn't good enough. The Raikage must have been drunk when he put such a weak man as his guards. But as the new leader of this village, I will make sure not to make such foolish mistakes.
Itome scanned the arena, looking for any signs of the latecomer with his Sharingan. He was a bit annoyed that this man hadn't joined yet. The clone, knowing this information as soon as Itome knew it, took it upon himself to form three handseals(dog, boar, and ram). These handseals formed a basic, yet vital academy technique. That technique allows the user to turn into anything they want, a perfect copy if the user is skilled enough. And of course, being a master of Ninjutsu, he is able to use the transformation technique with no problems whatsoever, and did not require any chakra costs.
The clone turned into a small pebble, a pebble that would be the size of a grape. It was innocent, reassuring, and unnoticeable. Meanwhile, Itome released the audience from the Genjutsu. But this would only happen if the ANBU was dead, however.
The kids at home would probably think that this is all special effects, but, Itome knew that the parents were smarter then that, at least the Shinobi parents. He knew many people in this village, and they would be shocked to know that he would be able to execute someone so cleanly, especially in public. What was Shigure and his sensei thinking during all of this? What about his family, and the Uchiha that came with them? Would they finally respect him, knowing that he killed someone from outside the clan so cleanly? So much would change since this man would be dead. Could Itome handle it all?
He was excited at the prospect of facing this new challenger, if he would come before the Raikage would declare Itome of this tournament. But then, it hit him. What if this "man" was actually a woman? At the thought of this, he snickered.
A kunoichi actually being viable for this tournament? Tch. I'll believe it when hell freezes over..
Wherever Roku was, he must have felt satisfied that he was right, and Itome was indeed a dangerous person. As the minutes passed, he got bored, deactivating his Sharingan and waiting for his opponent to come. It made no sense to continually keep wasting chakra. His line of sight allowed him to see the entrance of the arena, and so could his clone, although he was mainly relying on his clone for backup, as Itome decided that he would begin reading.
This book was massive, being about three thousand pages long. He'd just gotten it last night, but didn't get the chance to start the book because he was obviously trying to go to sleep early so he wouldn't oversleep for the tournament. The book was an epic, a very long poem that detailed the adventures of the Uzumaki that changed the world, otherwise known as Naruto Uzumaki. Naruto Uzumaki was a smart young man, Itome would tell. A fool wouldn't catalogue very important history, history that could be used to avoid mistakes previously made in the past. Kogakure needed more shinobi like him, but unfortunately, he was born in the leaf. A close friend of him, known only as Killer B was from Kumogakure, but that was another story meant for another time. Now that Itome thought about it, as he flipped each page, Naruto's situation started to look like his. Bullied by the people he was supposed to trust, claimed to be inferior..except, the magnitude of Naruto's situation was much higher. The whole village was against him. Students, adults, and even teachers. He couldn't escape the malice that was directed at him.
Feeling like he should resume at another time, that was far more appropriate, he closed the book. His shadow clone, disguised as a pebble still hadn't detected any intruders. He placed the book on a sturdybranch, watching the entrance..he was ready..
