Story
It's been five generations after the first war between Samurai and Shinobi. The five villages were founded shortly after and there has never been a war between them. Until now, all five villages have been off limits to the outside world, however the gates have been opened and ninja were allowed to travel between. But suddenly, kage are falling ill and no one knows who's behind it. The Hokage and Raikage both lie in comatose state, awaiting an answer as to what put them there.

The word of the day was mystery and Yasuo actually had no part in the involvement. For some odd reason, two of the five Kage had suddenly both become ill within a short period of time, leaving everyone suspicious of who could have possibly done it. The entire time period sort of felt like a "Who dun it?" situation and many ninja were on the move seeking clues as to what could have popssibly cause two of the most powerful shinobi in the known ninja world to fall so vulnerable in such a quick amount of time. The world seemed to be in a panic and everyone suspected everyone except those who were afflicted.

Being within the land of Sunagakure, this village was too under the suspecion of others as the Kazekage was yet to fall under the same illness, though based on the increased number of guards it became clear that there was strong suspicion that the Kazekage would be next. Yasuo suspected that other villages too would be wary of any travelers and the Tuschikage and Mizukage were likely under close watch as well. Things would likely be tense until the bottom line of this investigation was discovered, however he himself was playing a part in it. Lower ranked Ninja were assigned with searching for clue about what could possibly be the cause of these kage being poisoned or something of the sort.

He'd been walking around alleyways the entirety of his time, trying to find anything that seemed the least bit suscpicious and had to admit that he was having a hard time in doing so. The only thing he was able to find was a pile of rusted waepons but he highly doubted that they had anything to do with the possibile attack on the Kage. Perhaps they just contracted some sort of rare illness. Admittedly, the odds of them having such high influence in the world and both happen to suffer from the same conditions as well as symptoms. Something made it feel like there was foul play in place.

This ample suspicion was heightened immediately as Yasuo found his first clue. On the wall of a building, something that was only half covered with a trashcan, was an image that appeared to be skull and crossbones. One step at a time, he slowly crept closer, reaching out one hand to move the can away from the insignia on the wall. The can clanked and a small rat scurried out, toppling over the top in a hurry to escape from the motioned metalic container as if his life depended on it. Around the skull and crossbones were five symbols, each on represeting each of the five villages. There was an X over the symbols for Konohagakure and Kumogakure. The symbol for Sunagakure was circled. Yasuo's heart began to pound against his cehst as he saw the sign. "What does it mean...?" he whispered to himself before searching the area for more clues. Trickles of paints spotted the ground from the same spot that the sign was painted but nothing else seemed out of the ordinary.

His hand reached out to touch the wall as he traverse along it until reaching the end of the alleyway in which he discovered a bum sitting on a cardboard box to keep his bottom off of the hot ground, "Sir, have you seen anyone come into this alley recently?" He asked in a polite voice. While he wasn't normally one to have commendable respect for his elders, this time was a bit different considerinhg the needed help from the man. He was on the top of his toes when the man raised one finger, though all he got out of him was, "Nope. Sorry." Extremely disappointed, Yasuo metaphorically kicked rocks as he put both hands in his pockets and thought about what these symbols could mean. Staring at the ground, he felt a sense of guilt arise within his stomach. He knew that his assignment was just to search for clues but he had to admit that he also wanted the glory that would come with finding the culprit.

He soon turned back around to head towards the alley, wanting to investigate even further. However as he turned back, it seemed the bum was lifting his box and moving away from that spot despite the fact that it seemed as if he'd been sitting there all day. As he rose and turned around, one thing became clear. On the back of his neck was the same Skull and Crossbones that was painted on the wall. Yasuo's brow furrowed as he put full speed into running towards the man, however he was too late. As soon as the bum would hear the footsteps of the Chunin chasing him, and after-image appeared in the spot that he was once standing in. He had completely vanished within the blink of an eye.
