I'd like an official ruling on this. In the Canon, Ao can deactivate his transplanted Byakugan. I assume this was to fix the fact that other Doujutsu require you to cover them to deactivate them, but the Byakugan can see through things. I've already talked to Ryan, but I wasn't given an official answer. So yeah, can it be deactivated or no, because Byakugan can see through stuff and covering it would do nothing.

To balance the ability to turn it on and off, Byakugan will cost 1.5x normal upkeep

Would like to replace the current Byakugan with this form, as it is much more accurate to the Canon:

NOTE: Unlike other Doujutsu, a transplanted Byakugan can be activated and deactivated at will. However, its upkeep requires 1.5 times normal.

I think a sharingan too.. Cos even in the anime, when kakashi pulls off his headband, he can take a while before activating or even choose not to activate at all as seen when he fought zabuza. Its not really anything tho. Am just saying.

No Kakashi is incapable of ever deactivating his Sharingan. That is why he keeps it covered; to conserve chakra. But that matter has been settled for quite awhile, I just split the comments off of the Hyuga Clan so that an already approved clan wasn't getting all messy.

Could you grade this Byakugan?

Byakugan can't detect Genjutsu -_-

Yes it can, the same way the Sharingan does.

When Rin was captured, Obito realized she was under Genjutsu because he noticed the difference between the flow of her chakra and that of Kakashi's and Obito's. Since the Byakugan offers more ability to perceive chakra, it would only make sense that it can detect Genjutsu as well; even better than the Sharingan.

The byakugan can simple see the chakra points, the sharnigan can see the actual flow of chakra. PLUS, say the Byakugan can see the flow of chakra, how would that see through a genjutsu? You'd have to look at yourself and notice your chakra flow is out of sync, but that would be meta-gaming to randomly look at your chakra points, if you're trapped in a Genjutsu (unless it's a shitty genjutsu) it should be hard to distinguish reality from a dream.

Ao used his Byakugan to find out that Mifune was under the influence of Danzo's Kotoamatsukami.

And about your metagaming point: Byakugan has a 359 degree range of vision, it looks at everything. Besides, a good RPer would mention even before he was in a Genjutsu that he constantly checked himself for the influence on his chakra from another source.

And the reason it detects Genjutsu is Genjutsu is basically invading another's chakra through their senses and then manipulating it to get the desired effect.

A good rper wouldn't check himself to see if he was under the influence of another because why would that even be a thing. Why is checking to see if you're in a Genjutsu the first thing on anyone's mind lol you'd be too busy trying to use the damn thing for it's intended use, seeing far as shit or seeing chakra points. But you are right that you'd be able to actually see that someone was influenced by a genjutsu, I thought you said "see through" a genjutsu, as in break it, which is stupid.
